Over the last few years Normanton Golf Club has established a recognised and growing Tigers Section. Catering for players with a handicap up to 15, the Tigers enjoy competitive but friendly golf throughout the season.
The Tigers Team, of four golfing pairs at any one time, compete in the Heavy Woollen (HW) League playing some of the best local courses we have in our region. The HW League comprises of 10 local clubs all competing over 18 games across the golfing season. In addition to the HW League we also enjoy playing both The Arnold Skinner Trophy & The Colin Ainsworth Trophy along with The Festival Trophy of course which we managed to secure a victory this year with a fair bit of help from our Rabbits Section..cheers lads!
All our games are played in great spirit and good humour and over the last few years we have gained some good friends along the way. Its a great introduction to Matchplay Golf.
We also hold an annual Rabbits and Tigers Open Day, to be held next year on Saturday 1st July 2017. Details of this event are available under the Open Days section under the Visitors menu.
Messages of interest are regularly posted on the notice board in the locker room (Immediately right just inside the door) detailing events, competitions, results etc. and on the club website.
The Tigers Section has a growing membership which also aims to raise funds to support the club through it's golf and social events. If you would like to play a part in the Tigers Section, or would like to take part in the competitions or friendly fixtures we often arrange, feel free to contact me, Mick Tinker 07734 217950, or just see me on the course or in the clubhouse.
I look forward to hearing from you and enjoying Tigers golf in the near future
