---------------------------------------------------------------------
Annual General Meeting
The AGM took place on Monday 5th June and was attended by 58 members. The Directors presented the Company Accounts which reported another successful year financially for NGC (27.5k profit).

Reports were received for the key areas of; Finance, Greens, Marketing & Membership. The slides of the presentation are available to read on the members section of the web site.

Officer elections resulted in a new President, Michael Gaughan, who was voted in for a 3 year term. The Club would like to place on record their thanks to Peter Cumberworth for all his commitment as President over the last 6 years. The existing House Director, John Watson, was re-elected unopposed.

Out on the Course
Andy (Greens Director) has been keeping you all up to date with progress through his regular emails and reports on the web site. The recent rain, although not very nice to play in, has greatly benefited the course after a very lengthy dry spell and has been welcomed by the Greens staff.

The AGM re-iterated the Directors commitment to re-invest any surplus monies back into the course, in line with the priorities stated from the recent member course survey.

Membership
Membership level is at approx 560, however 41 of these are social (non playing) members, which creates additional financial pressure. We received 16 resignations at financial year end, which is about the norm. These will be replaced by new members joining throughout the year, although we are still desperately short of Junior and Lady Members.

Please make any new members feel welcome and assist them in any way you can.

The Directors are still concerned at the number of people on the course who are still not adhering to some of the key Dress Code standard, examples being;

  • T shirts tucked in trousers at all times
  • Tailored shorts with no side (cargo) pockets
  • No caps or waterproofs to be worn in the bars

News around the Sections/Representative Golf
The Scratch Team (organiser, Des Lawson) are currently in 4th place in Division 4 of the L&D scratch league, (see table overleaf). They are in the mix, with plenty of games still to play. Please come along on Monday nights and give our premier team your support.

The Nett Team (organiser, Andy Bell) Likewise, play on Monday nights alternating with the scratch team for home matches and are currently 6th after 3 games in the top division of the L&D league (see table overleaf). It’s early days yet for Andy and his team.

The Tigers Team (organiser Mick Tinker)

The Eggs Section (2017 Captain, Bryan Harvey)
Have just held their Senior’s Open Day, which was another tremendous success. Visitor feedback of the course was extremely enthusiastic. Bryan is now preparing for his Captain’s Away Day (next Monday) at Wyke Golf Club, where I’m sure everyone will thoroughly enjoy themselves (weather permitting). Please check out their Notice Board for all their info.

The Rabbits Section (2017 Captain Paul Sims)
Hold their Open Day (in conjunction with the Tigers) on Saturday 1st July. So don’t delay and get your entries in to win one of the fabulous prizes on offer. The Rabbits are currently lying top in the 8 man Heavy Woollen League. Their 2 man team are in 5th place in the L&D Premier Division after 4 games, but only 2 points off top. Please check out their Notice Board for all their info.

The Ladies Section (organiser Janet Gibson)             Held their Mixed Open Day on the recent Bank Holiday Monday. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and feedback from the day was good.
In the YLCGA the ladies B team (7 lady players) are competing, albeit with ladies higher than the h/cap limit (30).
