Juniors Newsletter - August

'Fun Day'

Thursday 13th August we held our Fun Day, all the events were played in teams. Everyone played in a team of three, Oliver Roberts the Junior Captain played with every team.

They all had fun trying to play out of the bunker into hats, putting, chipping and target golf. The winning team pictured below: Eli Ditch, Jocelyn Deary and Aaron England.

The longest drive Aaron England and nearest the pin Oliver Roberts.
The day ended with a fish and chip meal.

A big thank you must go to the club for bacon sandwiches and refreshments also to the EGGS section for a generous donation of  £50, thanks to everyone who helped make the day a success.

Match Update

Sunday 16th August we had our first friendly at home with Oulton Hall. The weather wasn’t very kind with heavy rain, the juniors were asked if they would like to cancel before the game, everyone said no as they were looking forward it and they wanted to play. The organiser from Oulton commented on how friendly our juniors were and how welcome they were made to feel. Our next friendly is at Oulton on 20th September.

Andrew Moralee Trophy

22nd August the 2nd round of The Andrew Moralee Trophy was won by
Oliver Batesman. Oliver had an outstanding round of 35 points over 13 holes he scored two 2s these were on the 10th and 12th, what an achievement.

Junior Captains Day

We’re all looking forward to our Junior Captain’s Day Saturday 12th September. The members of our club are so generous, we’ve had prizes and cash donations given for our day, thank you all so much.
