Members old and new

As a member of the club since 1977 it is my privilege to be your club captain for the 2019/20 golf season. I hope you all have a enjoyable year, whether in competition or representing the club in all it's various forms . We have a truly great course and clubhouse and we should try our utmost to respect both.

I would like to thank all the staff who have helped and supported me over the past 6 years as House Director. Now to the future. I would like to say thank you to the volunteers who have always helped with club functions such as Captains Day, Open Days etc. and who no doubt will once again be there to help, many thanks.

This year I will be supported by our Vice Captain, Harold Box, and look forward to his contribution to ensure the smooth running of my Captaincy. We have, in our professional Gary, one of the best, and we should support his Pro Shop as much as we can.

My charity for the year is Wakefield Hospice, a great cause everyone would, I am sure, agree. As for my penalty hole to support my charity, it will be the lake on the first and eighteenth.

I wish good luck and happy golfing to all our members, guests and visitors for the coming year.

My chosen charity this year is Wakefield Hospice, so please donate whenever possible.
My Captains Charity 'penalty hole' is the lake between the 1st and 18th, so if your ball ends up in the water, please make a donation (£1) in my Charity collection box situated in the pro shop or bars within the clubhouse, or buy a 'Golden Exemption Ticket' (see below).

You can find out more about Wakefield Hospice here

I am re-introducing the opportunity for members to be able to purchase a 'get out of the lake free' ticket known as the 'Golden Exemption Ticket'.

Anyone wanting to make a one-off donation to the Captain’s Charity, by purchasing a ‘Golden Exemption Ticket’ for £5.00, will not only be supporting an amazing charity, but they will also be exempt from paying the £1 fee into the charity jars for the whole season, regardless of how many times they end up in the lake! In addition, there will be an added incentive of an end of season ‘Golden Ticket Prize Draw’!

Golden Ticket Prize Draw!

Each Golden Ticket has a unique number and anyone who has purchased a ticket will automatically be entered into the end of season prize draw. The two winning tickets will be drawn at the October 'Club Presentation' Evening and the winners will receive £100 of golf vouchers. There is obviously no restriction to the number of tickets you purchase, and they will be available in the Pro-Shop, behind the 19th Bar and in the office.

(Thank you to Shaun Stanley (Printforms Ltd) for supplying the Tickets)
