Captain's Update

As my tenure as Club Captain comes to the end, the new golf season quickly approaches I would like to thank everyone associated with Normanton Golf Club for the help and support that they have given me throughout the year.

It has been a privilege to have been your Captain, It has been an enjoyable and interesting experience and on occasions frustrating.

The Golf Course has remained in good condition throughout the winter months with the help of the mild winter and I am confident that this will continue into the golf season and once again provide all of us, and our visitors, with a great golf course throughout the year.

You may have noticed the new 100 & 150 yard marker posts that I have put into the edges of the fairways. I would like to thank the EGGS section for their kind donation to purchase the posts, Andy Bell for painting the posts and Paul Tempest for providing additional materials.

I would ask that all members support the Board of Directors after decisions have been made, even though it may not be to your personal liking. I can tell you first hand that any decisions made by them are done so after exploring different options but are ultimately made to safeguard the best interests of the Golf Club and its members.

Finally I would like to wish our incoming Captain, John Watson, all the best for the year and ask that you support him wherever possible.

Once again, many thanks and here is a link to just a few of many good memories I have of my year
