Hands up who struggles with 'half' shots? Thins, fats and the odd shank?
Half shots are difficult due to the difficulty in moving the hands/arms and body in sync. We have lots of pupils who can hit a full wedge but hate hitting a half wedge. The difference is you commit with the full wedge but get out of 'sync' with the half shot.
A simple but very effective way of hitting the shots is to choke down on the club. Shortening the length of the club, doing this will reduce distance and give you a great ball flight but at the same time swinging the club with commitment.
So if your on the 10th and its a hard PW or an easy 9, grip down on the 9 and commit!
